This post is updated when new shops open.
Years ago, in 2011 to be exact, we enjoyed bubble teas but for a short while. Back then, matcha has already been my favorite, while the kids love taro. Then the one shop that offered those suddenly closed and though there were little shops that serve boba and jelly teas, they were not the same goodness we enjoyed. We still get them once in a blue moon – in the summers. Sometimes I make cold teas with jelly grass at home or even tapioca pearls, but there’s just a different sweetness to bubble teas that we look for.
We were somehow happy when we heard Taiwan’s bubble teas popping up (pun intended) in Vienna again. A little comfort, when lockdowns were lifted, would be to visit them and enjoy small talks with friends we rarely see nowadays. We get to breath fresh air and enjoy yummy drinks. Here are so far the Bubble Tea shops you can visit in Vienna.
While Teastories has been around since October of 2015, they’re more on traditional teas, and they also serve Vietnamese food. They’ve started offering milk teas in May 2020.

The whimisical theme Tea Plus picked for its stores are an additional attraction for those who love sharing everything on Instagram. They even have a flower wall for your selfie’s background at the Stumpergasse store.
And who doesn’t love sakura (cherry blossoms) and wisteria? You can have a picture under these two within the store.
Our picks: Bubble Milks, Yakult Green Jelly
Tea Plus opened it’s first store as early as May of 2019.

The smell of brown sugar welcomes you as you enter a Find Tea store. They opened at the height of the pandemic so the shops only allow two people at a time, which is a good thing. Those who had placed their orders have to wait outside and wait, and the friendly servers bring the freshly prepared teas out. Find Tea also sells yummy breads and pastries you can enjoy with the bubble teas.
Our best picks: Matcha with cream cheese, Taro with cream cheese
Store first opened in November 2020.

One of the shops that has been around the longest, Bubble King has a lot of branches in Vienna. We haven’t been so often, but they also deliver through mjam.at
