January 28, 2026 â The Healthy Brunch Club (THBC) opened today in Viennaâs Neubaugasse district, and we got a first taste of their Filipino flavors reimagined with a modern twist. The result? A nostalgic, deeply hearty lunch that feels both comforting and exciting, like home cooking dressed up for a long, lingering brunch with friends.
The Healthy Brunch Club is the brainchild of three sisters, born from a simple family tradition that turned into something much bigger. United by their love of family, travel, and of course, brunch, this ritual has followed them from New York to Chicago, along the Amalfi Coast, and time and again back to Vienna. Wherever they landed, brunch was never just a meal, but a moment to slow down, connect, and enjoy.
ÂRooted in the Philippines, the Sarmiento sisters Tessa, Tina, and Charlotte, bring with them a deep sense of warm hospitality and a genuine love for good food. These values shine through not only in their menu, but in the entire experience, one inspired by global flavors, shared memories, and the simple joy of gathering around a table.

THBCâs approach to food goes beyond taste, itâs deeply personal. After Tina was diagnosed with gut inflammation, the trio began rethinking their relationship with food, searching for ways to keep the joy of eating without the discomfort that often followed. What started as a necessity slowly turned into a passion: creating dishes that are gentle on the gut yet full of flavor.
Since then, theyâve focused on mindful ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and recipes that nourish as much as they satisfy. The result is food that feels good to eatâŠcomforting, balanced, and intentionally crafted, proving that gut-friendly doesnât have to mean boring or restrictive. At THBC, feeling good after a meal is just as important as loving every bite.

Feel-Good Food
As someone who follows a low-carbohydrate way of eating and enjoys plenty of herbs, spices, and teas in between, I was excited to try several items on their menu. That said, this approach also means I tend to feel full rather quickly. Thatâs why dining with hubby is such a plusâŠwe were able to share dishes and try a variety of dishes together, a lot of which were on the house (thank you so much).
We started off with shots of warm lemon water and cider vinegar water which both stimulates good digestion. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to wait a bit longer and were served siomai (which I didnât notice on the menu). Hubby loved its tenderness (telling me to take notes mentally since the siomai I make tends to be overcooked, lol).
We also got to try chialovers â chia seeds bathed in coconut milk on top of creamy mango puree and garnished with crunchy blueberries, raspberry and mint. The other was tender oats with lots of goodies mixed in (also sweetened banana) which hubby quickly polished of. ^_^

The Omelette Creation pairs eggs and shiitake, spinach, and onions served over sweet potatoes and avocado sprinkled with white and black sesame seeds, rounded out by beets, pine nuts, arugula, and other leafy greens for a hearty but fresh combination. I could list all the health benefits on this plate, but I wonât (probably in another day and post). ^_^
Finally, the Mactan Beef Wrap came as though signifying the clichĂ© âsaving the best for lastâŠâ It is a thoughtful variation of Filipino lumpiang sariwa, featuring savory, well-seasoned beef wrapped in a soft, fresh roll and layered with textures and flavors and the signature nutty sauce lumpiang sariwa is known for.
There were a lot of healthy drinks to choose from but we opted for the familiar flavors of home : Calamansi and Guava sodas (blended with ginger and lemongrass). Itâs been eons since weâd had guava, and weâd almost forgotten how uniquely fragrant and refreshing it is.
Beyond the main dishes, thereâs an impressive lineup of health-forward drinks and bowls worth exploring especially for vegans, many of which incorporate adaptogens like ashwagandha, reishi, chaga, and moringa. I have at one point tried these at home so Iâm just recommending based on preference. The reishi cappuccino and ashwagandha latte offer comforting, earthy flavors with a functional twist, while the moringa-mint tea or fennelâaniseâcaraway tea feels light, refreshing, and quietly energizing. For something more to kickstart your day, the Clean Green Kick and Beet Boost deliver bold, nutrient-packed sips that taste as good as they feel and for which your liver would thank you.
Rounding things out is the avocado bowlâsimple, nourishing, and satisfying in the best possible way. They also serve set menus based on each sisterâs choices. You can of course ask for add ons, if simply green isnât your thing : organic bacon or salmon, cheese, Joseph sourdough bread and more.
Behind the ScenesâŠKitchen
THBC started out a few mornings at the Raâmien kitchen and restaurant. With a little push, a little timing, everything fall into place. As they envisioned âWe didnât want a brunch club for organic food fanatics. We wanted a place where you feel welcome. Brunch without that nagging feeling and without being ripped off.â And this is what theyâre bringing to the tables.

With Chef Paul behind the kitchen, expect culinary creativity that balances flavour with wholesome, health-oriented ingredients. A fresh take on brunch classics, elevated with mindful preparation and modern techniques.
